Rural sussex wedding, bride and groom with goats nibbling on dress

Goats & an Oast House in Rural Sussex

I first met Lucy at Hester and Dan’s nautical wedding in Greenwich, and was so pleased when she asked me to shoot theirs after seeing the pictures. Starting in the atmospheric Rye Town Hall and ending in the gorgeous East Sussex countryside. The charismatic Town crier and friendly goats! The oast house with stunning views! The beautiful and super loving friends and family. It was a day that managed to have the perfect balance of precision planning with relaxed atmosphere, full of thoughtful, personal and very fun details.

One of my favourite moments was when Lucy walked down the aisle, BEAMING, to a beautiful piece of music of┬áLudovico Einaudi, it was a total ‘I’m not crying you’re crying (we’re all crying).’ moment. The farm that hosted the reception has a herd of friendly and inquisitive Boer goats who came over to say hello and have a nibble on her dress, resulting in one of my favourite wedding portraits of the year. Another highlight was the band, The SuperSka’s. They were absolutely brilliant, scorching the dance floor with their flawless Trojan classics. I also got to shoot this wedding with my good friend and co-conspirator Anne Schwarz. She is fabulous wedding photographer in her own right and together we nailed it.
