One of the greatest things about living afloat are the people you meet. I recently had a happy, lazy, (& hot!) Spring afternoon just wandering about the marshes with my friends and neighbours and their little boy. There is something kind of anarchic about the scrubby rural/urban hinterland of the Lea Valley, so close to the city yet feels like another world, with other possibilities.
Like many others with a significant little person in one hand and a sticky smart phone clutched in the other, I have A LOT of ok pictures of my sproglet. Grimacing, laughing, drooling, sleeping, on her own, with her Dad, her Grandparents, her little buddies, but hardly any with me. Well none that were fit to print anyway. It turns out that quite a few of my other mother buddies had exactly the same issue, so I decided to remedy this by getting some of us together and setting up a mini studio. Here are a few of my favourites from the resulting shoot.
We decided to make it a bit of a ‘Hooray, we made it to 6 months!’ celebration, so Prosecco was popped, cake and soup shared. It was quite an enjoyable afternoon, and something I’m thinking of turning into some kind of package offer to other parent and baby groups. Is this something you’d be interested in? If so, drop me a line!
